TikTok Song Finder: How to Find Any Song from a TikTok Video (2026)
Heard a song in a TikTok video and can’t figure out what it is? You’re not alone — TikTok’s audio ecosystem is massive and songs often go viral before they appear on mainstream charts. This guide covers every method to identify any TikTok song in 2026, from in-app tools to third-party apps.
Method 1: Check the TikTok Sound Page (Easiest)
Most TikTok videos display the song name at the bottom of the screen next to a spinning vinyl record icon. Tap it to open the Sound page which shows the full song title, artist name, and all other TikTok videos using the same audio. From there you can search the song on Spotify or Apple Music directly.
- While watching the TikTok, look for the spinning disc icon at the bottom right
- Tap it to open the Sound page
- The song title and artist appear at the top
- Tap Search this sound or copy the name to find it on streaming platforms
Note: some creators use original audio or renamed sounds — in that case the sound page won’t show the real song name and you’ll need another method.
Method 2: Shazam — Identify While Playing
Shazam is the gold standard for song identification. While the TikTok video is playing with audio:
We have also covered What Song Is This? 13 Mobile And Web Apps To Identify Songs in a separate walkthrough.
- Open Shazam (or use Shazam from Control Center on iPhone)
- Let it listen while the TikTok plays
- Shazam identifies the track within seconds and links to Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube
iPhone shortcut: Add Shazam to Control Center — Settings → Control Center → add Shazam. Then swipe and tap to identify any playing audio without switching apps. Available on iOS and Android.
Method 3: Google Search the Lyrics
If you caught a few words of the lyrics, Google them in quotes:
- Type the lyric fragment into Google in quotes, e.g. “running through the night without a care” lyrics
- Google’s lyric search usually identifies the song immediately
- If not, add lyrics or song after the phrase
Even 4–6 words from a chorus is usually enough for Google to identify it. Genius.com also has a lyric search tool that works well for partial phrases.
Method 4: Google Hum to Search
If you remember the melody but not the lyrics, Google can identify songs from humming:
- Open the Google app on iOS or Android
- Tap the microphone icon → tap Search a song
- Hum or whistle the melody for 10–15 seconds
- Google matches it to a song
Accuracy is surprisingly good — even imperfect humming identifies songs correctly most of the time. Also available at google.com on desktop by clicking the microphone icon in Search.
Method 5: TikTok’s Built-in Song Search
TikTok has a built-in song identification feature similar to Shazam:
- Tap the Search icon (magnifying glass) at the top of TikTok
- Tap the music note icon next to the search bar
- Hold your phone near the audio source
- TikTok identifies the song and shows related TikTok videos using it
Method 6: r/TikTokSongFinder on Reddit
If every other method fails, the r/TikTokSongFinder subreddit exists specifically for this. Post a description of the song, the lyrics you remember, or a link to the TikTok, and the community usually identifies it within hours. The subreddit has over 400,000 members and a very high success rate for obscure tracks.
Method 7: Identify from a Saved or Downloaded Video
If you saved the TikTok video to your camera roll and want to identify the song from the file:
- Shazam — play the video on your phone’s speaker and let Shazam listen
- AudioTag.info — upload a short audio clip and it identifies the song using multiple music fingerprinting databases
- Tunebat — upload an audio file for BPM, key, and song identification
