How to Recall Sent Email in Gmail?
By default the recall or undo feature is turned off. You will need to first enable it from the setting. Once it is enabled you will be able to undo or recall a sent email. However let me tell you in advance that any email sent can only be recalled within the 30 seconds. If you took longer then that then you will not be able to recall it. So bear in mind that with gmail you can only recall a message within the 30 seconds of sending it.
Step 1:- Go to your Gmail Setting by clicking on the gear button at the top of the page.
Step 2:- Click on the “Labs” tab and scroll down. Tick the “Enable” option for Undo Send.
The gmail will automatically reload and bring you to the Inbox.
Step 3:- Click again on the “Settings” and from the General tab scroll down to the Undo Send: option. Increase the “Send cancellation period:” to 30 seconds as highlighted in the screenshot below.
Note:- Currently the cancellation period is from 5 seconds to 30 seconds.
To test the feature simply send test email to one of your other email address and you will see a confirmation status at the top of the inbox. You can click on the “Undo” button in the next 30 seconds to recall the sent email.
