Widbook To Revolutionize The Publishing Industry

Considered the “YouTube of Books” by Mashable, Widbook establishes itself as the first and biggest online collaborative writing platform.

Six months after raising funds from W7 Brazil Capital, Widbook has generated accelerated growth that has quickly confirmed its position as a global leader among crowdwriting platforms. Today, the community has 6,000 ebooks being written worldwide and 1,000 already published. The literacy social network has already garnered 27,000 users in more than 200 countries.

These numbers confirm that Widbook is leading the way in the publishing industry revolution, which is poised to see the same changes as other fields that have embraced technology, including the photography, video and music industries. In this context, Widbook is helping to redefine the tenuous line between authors and publishers.

Ben Reinhardt, organizer of START Series – a private, invite-only event for startups in San Francisco of which Widbook was invited to participate – and organizer of Web Summit and e.founders for the past three years, said Widbook has a model of business that is disrupting the ebook market – a tough market to disrupt.

“It is the first time that we received a startup with this kind of business model and we are fascinated,” he said. “The idea of literature being collaborative online is innovative and that’s why we wanted to have them at our event.”

    Hey Bilal,
Nice post. Widbook is very awesome tool for the collaborative journalism. But we can’t export a project on another platform with the Widbook. So its an expectation from widbook.

    Widbook is awesome!

I’m right now writing my third book there. It’s a kind of social network for writers, I’m loving.
