You want them to open every e-mail and read every e-mail to find out what you’re going to give them or what they’re going to receive or what it’s going to be. You don’t want them to know the difference between a free report e-mail and a marketing e-mail. Otherwise, they’ll never open your marketing e-mails. That’s a very important inclusion into your marketing strategy with your e-mail lists.
1# Grow Your List
Next up is to grow your list. Focus your active promotion and marketing efforts, which we learned about in the previous video on driving traffic to your squeeze pages to grow your lists. Then become an ad swap maniac. Ad swaps can grow your list huge and you’re perfectly poised to build a huge list with ad swaps because you have so many free reports and squeeze pages.
2# Ad Swap
What is an ad swap? An ad swap is where you find another marketer who has an e-mail list in a complimentary niche or the same niche and then you send out an e-mail ad to your list promoting his offer. Then he does the same for you with his list. Basically, you promote him, he promotes you, and you both grow your list. You’re basically swapping clicks or swapping subscribers.
Now here are some basics with ad swaps. Approach other list owners in your niche and offer to do an ad swap with them. Find out who has a list, and usually if you can find a list that’s of the comparable – same size as your list, you’ll have a better job of convincing them to do an ad swap with you. Have them promote one of your squeeze pages that you think best fits their list. Then make sure your auto responder is set to single opt-in because you want to make sure you capture every one of these subscribers that chooses to download your free report.
3# Use Third Party
Then you need to use a link or click tracker like www.Bitly.com. All you do is you go to www.Bitly.com, create a free account, plug in the link that you’re going to send traffic to and it will cloak that link and give you a Bitly link. Any time that link is clicked; it will provide tracking of the number of clicks and where they came from and all that kind of stuff. That’s the link you’re going to include in your promotional e-mail that the list owner’s going to send out.
