    As a developer I’ve always found it amazing how many marketers try to act like they know about security – but then they make really silly mistakes.

    For instance- I was working on an app for a marketer a few years ago. He changed the FTP login info for his server and sent it over to me … via twitter… to the public. Why didn’t he just email it, or why didn’t he use the project management system on his server… I still don’t know what he was thinking.

    Or better yet, I was asked to tweak some stuff for an ecommerce store that was too cheap to get a real SSL certificate so they used a favicon of a padlock and photoshopped a bunch of those “our site is secure” banners you see all over.

    Oh, the stories I could tell – it would take weeks to go through them all 😀
