Problems While Establishing Connection Using Entourage? You Need to Repair Entourage!

Microsoft Entourage, helps communicate easily. But Entourage must be connected with Exchange server. But, for better communication of Entourage with Exchange server, a large number of factors are responsible like certificates, LDAP functions, and many more. In most of the cases, where, Microsoft Entourage fails to develop a secure connection with Exchange server, mails cannot be sent or received. Here is an error message that appears on the system screen when you try to perform a clean install of MS-Office 2008, Entourage application starts prompting an error message like this:

“Unable to establish a secure connection to servername because the correct root certificate is not installed.”

After viewing an error message, when you try to install Exchange Server’s root certificate you receive
another message as given below:

“Unable to establish a secure connection to servername because the server name or IP address does not match the name or IP address on the server’s certificate. If you continue, the information you view and send will be encrypted, but will not be secure.”

After getting this error message when you click on the OK button, Entourage will be connect, but you may receive the same error.

Cause:

The probable cause for the occurrence of the above error message is:

• No proper installation of correct root certificate has been done.
• LDAP lookup might be the other reason for the above problem.
• The Entourage database is damaged or corrupted.

Resolution:

The root cause for the occurrence of the above error message is the issue related to valid certificate. Certificate is provided through public and private provider. If the certificate is provided by a public provider, then there is no need to install any certificates. If the certificate is provided by a private provider, then you need to install Keychain Access. Install Keychain Access to login chain, if only you are going to need it. If other users also need it, then install it to the system chain. It may be possible that installation of certificate also does not show any desirable results.

If the LDAP lookup is responsible for the above error. To get over above error message follow the below steps:

1. Go to ENTOURAGE menu, pick ACCOUNT SETTINGS from there.

2. Open Exchange account by double clicking it.

3. Choose Advanced Tab from the EDIT ACCOUNT dialog.

4. Deselect -in case selected – “This LDAP server requires a secure connection (SSL)” checkbox.

You can do above step if the LDAP functions are creating a problem.
