The Microsoft Surface tablet, which was announced June 18th, is expected to hit the shelves this October along with the Windows 8 operating system. The tablet PC will be available for purchase as either the Surface or the Surface Pro depending on desired specifications. However, the Surface Pro won’t be available until 3 months after the standard Microsoft Surface release in October. The Surface is designed to compete with the iPad and Ultrabooks. This versatile tablet can also double as a laptop when docked into the type and touch covers which will be designed to complement the Surface tablet.
The Microsoft Surface tablet will come preinstalled with the Windows 8 operating system which is tablet friendly. The Surface boasts a 10.6 inch high definition display with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. A built-in kickstand is integrated into the tablet to provide a unique multimedia experience. The Wi-Fi capabilities make the tablet handy for portable web browsing. A thin QWERTY keyboard case will be available as a separate accessory that magnetically snaps into the tablet. The Surface will include a microSD card slot and a USB port for connecting devices and transferring data.

The Microsoft Surface is the standard version of the tablet and comes with either a 32GB or 64GB storage capacity. The Surface tablet will include a Windows 8 RT operating system powered by a NVIDIA Tegra ARM processor. Surface tablets will include USB 2.0 and a micro HDMI output for connecting external devices and displays.
Surface Pro Tech Specs
The Microsoft Surface Pro is the advanced version of the tablet and comes with either a 64GB or 128GB storage capacity. The Surface tablet will include a Windows 8 Pro operating system powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5 processor. Surface tablets will include USB 3.0 and a mini Displayport output for connecting external devices and displays.
The Big Arrival
The prerelease reception of the Microsoft Surface has had mixed responses. Some OEMs feel that Microsoft is abandoning them and keeping them on the sidelines. Also, there have been critics warning consumers of Microsoft’s hardware due to unsuccessful products in the past. However, there is still a large following of Microsoft diehards eager to get their hands on the Microsoft Surface. Although most of the products details still remain a mystery, the Microsoft Surface tablet is sure to make a splash in the market.
