Your laptop could become your best friend for life or at least your partner wherever you will go. If it came to the lives of the people not to be able to leave their mobile phones before, that is actually happening with the laptops nowadays. Practically, laptops are very useful especially for corporate purposes or even for school projects. You can easily understand why there are people nowadays who cannot let the day pass without using their laptops. However, one of the problems of computers is that, the more you use them, the more they become slow. So, how can you maintain the efficiency like the first time you used it?

8 Tips to Maintain Your Laptop Efficiency

Maintain Your Laptop’s Efficiency

Here are simple and practical steps you can do…

#1. Choose Important Startup Programs to Run – when your laptop starts, it will take time loading all the system files followed by the start up programs which are programmed to run during the start up process. The more you let them run, the slower your laptop becomes. Getting rid of those start-up programs doesn’t mean you are removing them from your computer; you are just preventing them from running during the boot process.

#2. Keep your Laptop Cool – use your common sense; the hotter your laptop becomes, the slower it runs and the higher the risk of over heating. There are available coolers you can purchase from any computer stores; get one of them and use it for your laptop.

#3. Get Rid of Unused Programs – of course, there are programs which you really do not need. You can uninstall them to give more space for other programs or applications in your computer. By doing so, you are also freeing some space from your hard drive. Always remember that once your hard drive becomes corroded with programs, it will take some time to locate important files, thus, affecting the overall performance of your laptop especially the speed.

#4. Defragment your Hard Drives – as mentioned in Step 3, your computer takes time in locating important files especially if there are a lot of programs installed. Therefore, it is always a good idea to defragment your drives every now and then. Doing so will arrange the system files and place them in the sectors which are intended for them for easy access.

#5. Empty Your Recycle Bin – as you know, when you delete files from your PC, those files will be put into Recycle bin. Thus, they are not really deleted; they are just put into another location. Therefore, they still eat up some space from your hard drive. Have a habit of emptying your recycle bin more often.

#6. Delete Temporary Internet Files – if you are experiencing slow browsing it could be because of a bad Internet Connection. However, when it happens more often you might consider deleting those temporary internet files saved by your browser into your computer.

#7. Clean your Registry – there are times when registry files become corrupt, when this happens there will be a sudden and radical change in the performance of your laptop. You should consider cleaning up your registry and be it habit to run registry cleaners to check if there are errors and corrupt files.

#8. Upgrade your RAM – this could be the last resort you should consider. However, if you have done everything but to no avail, feel free to bring your laptop to the service center for an upgrade.

There could be other things you can do to your laptop to optimize its performance. The best thing you should do is to know every aspect of your computer to unleash its real power. Also, consider buying good brands of laptops with high specifications.
