How to Find Great Sources of Blogging Inspiration

When blogging, it’s important that you find inspiration to keep yourself going, because otherwise, blogging can seem like a chore, and the last thing you want is to feel as though you are doing a chore when you blog.

Certainly, there are days when you’ll feel frustrated with your blog; I know I sometimes feel that way every now and then! But I’ve found that by finding inspiration in a variety of sources, I can keep my content fresh and interesting for my readers.

So, how do I find great sources of inspiration? I’ve listed a few methods that work best for me. Hopefully, they can work for you as well!

Always Keep a Journal

I always keep a journal. It is my most basic and important blogging tool. In my journal I can write down any ideas I have for my blog: advertising ideas, post ideas, administrative ideas, long-term goals. I keep the journal with me at all times, so that when I happen to inspire myself, I don’t have to go running for a pad of paper to write down the idea. I believe that my ideas can be a great source for inspiration, so I don’t ever want to risk losing one because I wasn’t prepared to write it down.

Correspond with Interesting People

Another way to become inspired is to surround yourself with inspiring people. This means that you might have to get out of your comfort zone, if you’re shy for example, and actually reach out and try to connect with others. If you read a blog by one of your favorite bloggers, it can’t hurt to try to initiate a conversation with him or her via email. If you’re lucky, that could develop into a blogging friendship, and from that friendship you can gain a new source of inspiration. What do you have to lose?

Seek Out Interesting Content!

I was always taught that ‘books are the key to knowledge,’ so I’ve made it a great habit to constantly be reading books that seem interesting and unique. I seek out books that are beyond my blogging niche, because I’ve found that books about unusual subjects can still relate to what I’m blogging about.

Of course, you don’t have to read just books! You can consume all kinds of content: read interesting websites, watch interesting movies and documentaries, and listen to amazing music. All of these sources can inspire you to become more creative in your blogging. New and interesting sources of inspiration make you think about your blogging in new ways, which translates into fresh content for your readers.

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Finally, you can challenge yourself to do something unique and interesting once a week or once a month. The simple act of changing up your routine and doing something you wouldn’t normally do can give you some great experiences to write about, and the experiences can also help you figure out new and creative ways you could approach blogging. For example, if you’re scared of sky-diving, why not go out on a limb and give it a try? Or if you’re a technology blogger, why not try a technology fast for one day or even a week. That could give you some great content for your tech blog!
