What is Disavow Link Tool?

The tool allow you to upload a .txt file containing all the URLs that you want google to ignore them towards your blog or website links count.

So if you are effected by Google Penguin update then you can use the tool to remove the bad links from google database. However make sure to only upload the links that you think are the bad links. You can use online tools like LinkResearchTools.com to find out the bad links. [This is a paid tool]

Instead you can use Webcons free tool however it will not allow you to import the list of the links and neither it can highlight the bad links.

How to add links in the .txt File to Upload for Disavow?

Open Notepad file and paste all the links of the pages that you want google to ignore for your link counts. Add all the links in a separate line.

You can also add the domain to tell google not to count any link from the particular domain.

Once you have added all the links, save the file and upload under your account. Wait for a few weeks to see the result. The result is not instant and it will take time and neither it is guaranteed but google will review the file and then remove the links you mentioned in the file from the database.

Note:- This tool is not for deindexing the links from Google, This tool gives webmasters the ability to tell Google to “ignore” specific links and domains from poor quality link-sources.

Finally you can bounce back from penguin penalty however you must use the tool in proper way. Don’t remove each and every link, only remove the links you think are of low quality. If your blog is not effected by the penalty then there is no need to use the tool. It is for those who have used the same anchor text again and again for building links.

Drop your comments below about this new tool. Do you think it is a good step by Google or just another way to get some data and penalize more websites.
