In this century owning a business and not having a business website is like owning a car without a stereo. If you’ve ever approached a web designing company you will know that the cost of designing and maintaining a website can run into thousands of dollars. For a small to medium-sized business these costs are often unaffordable. Web designers charge exorbitant fees for the initial design, and you can expect ongoing costs each time you want to change the content of your website or make a minor tweak to your site.

What if I told you that you can have a fully-functional, professional and effective website for your company for less than $100 a year? It’s a fact! This “widely-known secret” is something a web design business will never tell you. And this “secret” is called – WordPress!

WordPress is a traditional blogging platform that provides the layman with a tool to create a blog with minimal technical knowledge. But many people are unaware of the flexibility that WordPress provides. Besides being able to create your own blog, you can also develop a professional website; and the only costs incurred are that of hosting and registering a domain. This platform has been developed around usability, and what you can expect is a user-friendly interface that will allow you to design and maintain a company website with relative ease.

What are the benefits of using WordPress?

  1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO): If you are unfamiliar with the term SEO – it is basically specific factors that search engines like Google take into account when ranking any particular site. WordPress provides one-click “plug-ins” that assist you in designing a highly optimized site for the search engines. [Check: SEO Tips for WordPress Blogs]
  2. User-Friendly Interface: Updating or changing the content on a conventional website requires programming knowledge. But with WordPress you are given a Content Management System (CMS). Updating your content is as easy as writing a document using Microsoft Word. The user-friendly interface will make you feel like an accomplished web designer without having to study “computer lingo”. 3. Extensions: WordPress is made up of a community of developers and programmers who believe in innovation. These great minds are always introducing new plug-ins, widgets, and themes to enhance your site, and inject it with all the bells and whistles. Best of all – these extras are all free. [Check: ]
  4. A Community Forum: WordPress provides its users with literally thousands of tutorials to help you design your website. You can also submit any questions you have via the WordPress site, and an expert will gladly answer your questions. The support on offer is unparalleled. Lack of knowledge shouldn’t hinder you from taking the plunge and using the WordPress platform.

Now that you know of some of the benefits of using WordPress, you can now save thousands of dollars by designing your company website on your own.

Yes, that is exactly right Robert. WP is easy top use. What is so cool about it is that it comes with hundreds of plugins and themes that suits everyones needs! No need to create custom code which is expensive and not flexible. WP sites are cheaply and easily maintained, keeping costs down for their owners!
