After creating a blog the next step is to promote it. You can use different channels and strategies to promote it. However there are few that every blogger uses to promote a blog and increase traffic to blog. I personally recommend the following tips to follow in order to promote your blog.
1. Put Attractive Content
The content on your blog must be attractive. You must try to be the first one writing about a news or topic. For instance, if you are writing about blogging tips and thesis theme coupons, you need to cover each and everything related to this topic. Keep your blog updated and come up with 3 to 4 posts every day. But don’t post all the posts together. Wait between two consecutive posts.
2. Try SEO
Once you have some content on your blog, go for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). You can do partnerships with other blog owners of your niche by placing links in each other’s blog roll. Write some articles and place them on ezine, ehow and squidoo etc. with a backlink to your website. Don’t do spamming and instead write relevant articles to crate backlink for your blog. You can also try social bookmarking, directory submission, link wheels, dofollow forums and other SEO techniques. In in-page optimization, see if your title and Meta description/keywords are properly managed and are relevant as well.
3. Become an Advertiser
The more you invest, sweeter the return will be. Try to place your advertisements on popular ad networks like Google Adwords. Create a campaign with the keywords you want to promote. This will drive some traffic to your site. And now if you have followed step 1 correctly, those visitors will turn into returning visitors possibly. Never advertise before your content is attractive enough to stick the visitors with it.
4. Give Attention to RSS Feed
RSS feed is what a lot of people use these days. If they like the idea of a blog, they subscribe to its RSS feed and keep coming back to the website. What’s important in RSS feed is to use catchy topics, don’t deviate away from your blog’s theme (otherwise people might unsubscribe) and maintain an updated blog refreshed several times a day.
5. Make Use of Twitter and Facebook
Twitter and Facebook are your tools for free advertisement or you can say free traffic. Your message reaches your followers within seconds and that’s also for free. Don’t forget to use any of these important tech tools for your blog’s promotion.

6. Involve People
People might turn into returning visitors if they have something interactive to do. You can start a competition on your blog. You might create a platform on which they can interact with eachother. You can start some blog which gives away prizes depending upon the action from people. Moreover, the blog should always keep on getting comments on your blog posts.
