4 Steps For Conducting a Successful Webinar

Webinars are turning more and more frequent now days, and when we look at the advantages and benefits a web-based seminar can bring to the table, for both the organizers and attendees (e.g. saving time and money to name just a few of those benefits), it is evident that the phenomenon is here to stay. In fact, the proceedings suggest that there will be more and more advancements as far as the facilities and also the use of the technology goes. Conducting a webinar is easy, it is cheap, and it can provide the basic advantages that a seminar has to offer. But because the technology is fairly new, it can take a little more efforts and planning on part of organizers to make a webinar successful and profitable by roping in more and more attendees. Following are four basic steps of conducting a successful webinar.

1# Schedule/Plan the webinar

Just like any other event, planning is the key to a successful webinar. Planning for a webinar will include each and everything from identifying the main goals and objectives, making a budget, making the right schedule, hooking up the right presenters, identifying the target market, and choosing the right vendor who’ll provide the web conferencing service and all.

2# Marketing and Promotions

A webinar is not made successful only by the name and repute of its presenters, but by the number of people who’ll enroll and participate in a webinar. So you’ve got to promote your webinar quite extensively. Remember that as it is the case with any other novel concept, people will be a little reluctant to embrace, especially if they are required to pay some registration fee. The ideal place to promote a webinar is of course the social media, but do not limit yourself to just one medium. Also remember that you will need to have some sort of standing in order to win the trust of your target market and make them participate.

3# Presentation

To provide the participants as well as the presenters/speakers with a worthwhile experience, so that they will be back for the next webinars, you will have to employ some well-known video conferencing and webinar services out there (e.g. gotomeeting or gotowebinar). There aren’t many reputed companies providing these services, and you must do the due diligence before choosing one, because having any kind of distortion during the webinar will make it a horrible experience for everybody involved. Apart from the technology and equipment, of course you will need to work on the presentation, information, and the slides or files that you will be sharing.

4# Following up and evaluation

Ok, so you’ve managed to hook up a significant number of people to register and attend the webinar, and the webinar has rolled up pretty well, and everyone was relatively happy with the proceedings, does that mean that the job is done? Well certainly not, there’s a lot that you need to do once the webinar is over. From going through the recordings and making sure that there are no glitches before the copy is made available for those who’d like to see to following up with the attendees and asking for their feedback. In addition to that, you will need to look at the reports and feedback and evaluate the weak areas, to make sure your next webinar will be even more successful.
