In the world of blogging, time plays a vital role. It depends on the number of blogs you post a day and the amount you are willing to spend for it. It is a skill that a lot of bloggers have to acquire. I agree writing is not like cutting vegetables. You cannot know how much or how little you will be able to finish with a timeframe. Writing is not something you can finish within the allotted time. So, how can you effectively manage time? Here are a few tips:
Write your ideas:
When you have time, write the ideas you have for the articles in advance. Make note on the topics you wish to write about, the possible ideas you have, etc. Write a note on any ideas that pop-up in your mind. Brainstorming them later will only waste your time. When you jot down ideas in advance, you will be able to quickly find information as you know what you are going to write about.
Build a routine:
When we are working for others, we are forced to follow a routine. However, when you are doing the work all by yourself, routine is not given consideration. Many bloggers don’t follow a routine to do their work. Even if you don’t write on a daily basis, spend some time daily to look out for topics and to get fresh ideas. Write at a time you feel most comfortable. For example, if you are not a morning bird, your mind will not be on work. Write in the evening when you feel fresh. When you build a routine, it helps stay organized.
Switch off your phone:
Turn off your phone when you start writing. Taking calls is a distraction you can try avoiding. It not only breaks the concentration, but also your thread. However, you can listen to music or have radio playing in the background if you feel the quietness too oppressive. Distractions tend to delay your writing and in further your writing time.
Allot time to research:
Whenever you write an article, get the facts right. The biggest blunder will be giving incorrect information. It would be ideal to allot equal research and writing time. When you get more information though the research, you will be able to write an article that has depth and information. You won’t run out of information and can finish your article faster.
Prioritize your work:
Blogging is not the only platform available on the Internet. You get to reach the targeted audience or interact with people you like through social media. In fact, social network and blogging are inter-connected. You can connect your social media pages to the blogging platforms and vice-versa. When you are into blogging, don’t get into social media interactions. Social media is not only a distraction, but you will not be able to give your 100% when you try working on both platforms.
These are a few effective tips you can consider. Each blogger has his personal way to manage time. There is no specific formula for time management. As is stated before, you cannot force yourself to write. End of the day, make sure you don’t waste too much of your time on blogging.
